Mataram—The government continues to echo the tagline “NTB Land of Infinite Experiences” on various occasions to promote the potential of tourist areas in NTB. This time, at the UKM-IKM Product Expo held by BRIDA NTB, the Deputy Governor of NTB, Dr. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah also shared experiences regarding sustainable development programs that have been carried out by the Provincial Government to continue to maintain the beauty of nature and the environment in NTB.
The activity was attended by dozens of students from various parts of the world who are studying the Master in Public Administration (MPA) Program at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) from the National Of Singapore (NUS).
“We call NTB the “Land of Infinite Experiences”, especially for tourism, because we have beaches, waterfalls, mountains and more. It is our duty to protect this area. Therefore, we have several programs for that, such as Zero Waste, Green NTB, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Tourism Development,” explained the Deputy Governor in his remarks at BRIDA NTB, Wednesday (04/01).
He also stated that all programs that had been running were the fruit of the cooperation between the NTB Provincial Government and related stakeholders. According to him, the government cannot work alone, so it must collaborate with all parties.
“Last 2021 we were also invited to take part in COP-26 in the UK, on that occasion we stated that NTB is ready for Net Zero Emissions in 2050. We know we cannot work alone. Of course we would be very happy to collaborate with LKYSPP for new initiatives and innovations,” said Ummi Rohmi, her nickname.
Finally, he hopes that the students who take part in the study visit can learn and get a lot of information and have fun experiences while enjoying their time in NTB.
Meanwhile, a warm welcome also came from a lecturer representative from the Sumbawa University of Technology, Ery Sofiatry, M.Sc. He said that this expo activity would provide a lot of understanding about Sustainable Development in NTB.
“This Expo will provide an understanding of Sustainable Development in NTB. Welcome, I hope you have a lot of fun times,” said Ery.
The Expo activity presented 15 initiatives/participants that focused on the development of renewable energy. The students who attended also had the opportunity to dig up information about local NTB products offered by UKM-IKM.
